Accomplishments
DALL·E 2 and GPT-4 vision
Chu's homepage documents co-authorship of DALL·E 2 (2022) and leadership of the initial visual-input prototype for GPT-4 (2023), placing him at the center of OpenAI's early multimodal stack spanning image generation and image understanding.1
Earlier research
Before OpenAI he published on GANs, Stein variational methods, and probability functional descent (ICML 2019), linking generative modeling and variational inference.1
